Congratulations to the MNVA Winner of the 2024 K12 Photography Competition

The 2024 K12 Photography Competition boasted more than 12,000 entries from talented students nationwide. Among those were 84 submissions from students at Minnesota Virtual Academy.
This annual competition celebrates the artistic skills of students in kindergarten through twelfth grade and provides a platform for them to showcase their unique perspectives through the camera lens.
A total of $20,000 in cash prizes were awarded to this year’s winners! In each grade level, the 1st place winner received $1,000, the 2nd place winner took home $500, and the People’s Choice winner—selected through public voting—earned $100.
We’re incredibly proud of every student who participated, whether as a first-time competitor or a seasoned photographer. Even more exciting, we’re thrilled to announce that one of our very own students from Minnesota Virtual Academy earned a top spot in this year’s competition!

Zophina
2nd Place, 3rd Grade
“There have been a lot of frogs and toads in my backyard. I saw this frog sitting on our tree. I really liked him, so I took a picture.”
We couldn’t be prouder of Zophina for her incredible achievements in this year’s competition. Her unique vision and dedication truly shined in her photography, and we can’t wait to see how she continues to evolve and flourish as an artist.
At Minnesota Virtual Academy, we’re committed to providing opportunities for our students to explore their talents and passions. The success of our participants in the K12 Photography Competition is a true testament to that. We can’t wait to see even more inspiring entries in future competitions!
